Sligo is doing really well, he is such a funny funny dog, and has
so much personality considering he's not long since retired, I know
with a lot of them they are in shellshock for months but there's
not a trace of that with him.
One of his favourite tricks is building little shrines around the
house when we aren't in - the other day he carried Richard's very
big biker boots upstairs and put them outside the bedroom door,
then went up to my office on the top floor and brought a jumper
down which he put on top of the boots, then went and got a cushion
off the bed and put that on the top of them all! We quite often get
home to find a random shoe on a sofa, and I have lost the battle to
keep two specific cushions on a sofa when he has categorically
decided they belong on the bed! He just makes us laugh so much.
He's getting on fantastically with Branka, and if anything he's
making her a little bit braver which is great as she can be very
nervous. She likes cleaning his ears with her tongue and he loves
it! After a bumpy start he's fine with my mum and dad's dog
(picture attached) but we're still doing some socialising with him
with other breeds - lessons such as "that miniature poodle's ear is
not a snack" still need some work!!
We’ve had her 3 weeks now but it feels like she’s always been part of our family. She was really quiet and well behaved when she first arrived but now her personality is starting to come out and she’s like a little whirl wind. She loves racing around our garden and house, Smiler used to join in but now I think it’s too hot. She loves taking whatever she can find and hiding it in her bed, if something is lost Emma’s bed is now the first place we look. In the morning when I go and wake the kids up for school she comes upstairs with me and gets into bed with them, my husband is not very happy about that bit, but we think it’s funny. Her favourite day is Sunday, if it’s sunny her and Smiler are given two bones which they take outside and chew on for most of the morning – she loves the garden - she then spends the afternoon sunbathing until her Sunday Roast tea is ready. I think she’s got it pretty good but she deserves it.
