Jake now called Jimmy. Landed on his feet! Jimmy was destined to be with his new Mum it was deffinatey fate how it all worked out. He's got mases of land to run around and lots of other doggy friends- even the cat (who thinks he's dog anyway) proving if we know the dog is ok we will rehome with cats.
Message from his new mum:-
Peace through the night -Hurray!! I think it was the crate. Tried him last night without it and he was as good as gold. He is also getting to know the routine! Last night we were sharing the sofa with me on one side, the black lab sitting on my lap and Sweep by my feet - bliss!!
Lui - now called Sligo:-
Things are going great here. Sligo has been on his first holiday (a cottage in Whitby) and was as good as gold, he was quite interested
in the sea, but infinitely more interested in the treats that people in pubs wanted to give him! He's still very very keen on smaller dogs, and not in a good way, so the muzzle had to come out when it was busy, but he is getting used to that. He actually bays at small dogs which can be quite terrifying to their owners. I
think its just his way of letting me know that there is a snack-sized dog nearby :)
He is still such a funny dog, and still building shrines all over the house with things that he's snaffled. He remains obsessed with boots and shoes, and quite often I get home and find he's dug out some shoes that I'd forgotten I owned, brought them down two flights of stairs and put them on the sofa. He has even brought one of the dog beds downstairs and put it on the sofa, I'd have loved to have watched him do that! If things get tough we're considering
applying for a job at Pickfords for him
We've found the one thing in the world he's scared of - thunder. We had a storm a while ago and normally I don't think about it cos Branka's never been scared of thunder (carrier bags, bus stops, wheelie bins and balls she's scared of, but not thunder!) but as soon as we had the first distant rumble poor Sli was up on my knee and shaking. For such a confident dog it was so sad to see. I'm going to get some DAP spray for him ready for the next storm (obonfire night), as we've used that with Branka before when she's had scary situations and really seen a difference.
Sligo is already quite well known at the vets! He's managed to cut his nose when jumping up and down in excitement and also get an eye infection, but I think he's just that kind of scampish sort of character who is always in scrapes - a real contrast to Branka's much more refined personality, but he's so much more affectionate than she is.
I've attached a photo of them curled up together on the sofa, which is pretty much their default position. I hope you can tell from the photo that he's filled out a bit, and his bald patches have all but gone.
All in all he's just such a lovely dog and him and Branka are still
perfect together
